The Edge of Never by J.A Redmerski
Overall Rating 5/5
This book follows Camryn and Andrew Parrish , both of them are at crossroads in their life.
Camryn is at a point in life where she is going to move out and start a new career, however she finds herself in a situation after a night of drinking that ultimately ends her friendship. She decided that she needs to live life differently and she takes a bus alone and without a set destination with a small bag of her belongings. There she meats Andrew and everything changes. She doesn't want to fall in love and Andrew doesn't want to fall in love with her either. They both need to learn how to accept loss and move forward. Together they embark in a cross country trip until they decide what they want to do with their lives.
First and foremost,Why had I not heard of this book? This book was recommended to me and had my friend never told me about it I would've never have read this gem. This book is soooo sooo goood and I feel like it deserves so much more love and exposure than it is given. Honestly, I think this would make a great movie adaptation. I have to say when I started reading this book , I didn't even read the synopsis I basically went in blind to this reading and I feel like it helped me because I had no preconceived ideas of how it was going to end. This book draws you in almost immediately and the characters are easy to love. Even though the book initially starts being narrated by Camryn , eventually the book alternates between characters. The switch between character narration is seamless and you fall in love with both of them respectfully. I loved the way the story unfolded and how Andrew maintains somewhat of a mysteriousness all the way until the end. This book makes you think about life of course most of us cannot just leave our lives behind and go on a spontaneous road trip without a deadline and not worry about things like money and our jobs. What I do think we can all learn from this book is that although most if not all of us have baggage we can learn and grow and keep growing. It is also never to late to pursue something you have always dreamed about. I love that the characters leave their comforts zones and do things they never thought they would do. This story takes you on a roller coaster of emotions , but it is great up until the very last page. I should say I read more then 400 pages in about 3hrs and it was oh so worth it.
