The Husband's Secret...

“None of us ever know all the possible courses our lives could have and maybe should have taken. It's probably just as well. Some secrets are meant to stay secret forever. Just ask Pandora.” ― Liane Moriarty, The Husband's Secret

Overall Rating: 4/5

Synopsis from Good Reads :

Imagine that your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret—something with the potential to destroy not just the life you built together, but the lives of others as well. Imagine, then, that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive. . . .Cecilia Fitzpatrick has achieved it all—she’s an incredibly successful businesswoman, a pillar of her small community, and a devoted wife and mother. Her life is as orderly and spotless as her home. But that letter is about to change everything, and not just for her: Rachel and Tess barely know Cecilia—or each other—but they too are about to feel the earth-shattering repercussions of her husband’s secret.Acclaimed author Liane Moriarty has written a gripping, thought-provoking novel about how well it is really possible to know our spouses—and, ultimately, ourselves.

I am Finally back with a book review after almost two weeks of not finishing any books. I would like to start by saying that Liane Moriarty has quickly become one of the authors that I love. I was looking into other books she wrote after having purchased Big Little Lies on a whim one day and after loving it, I knew I needed more from her. The husbands secret does not disappoint. Much like her other book we know there are some big secrets that will be revealed but they aren't revealed until about mid-way. We follow 3 main characters , which I feel is somewhat of a trend in her books thus far. We follow Ceclia Fitzpatrick , Tess O'Leary and Rachel Crowley. All somehow linked by tragedy and the unexpected circumstances in their lives. Cecilia and Tess are both married and struggling to hold on to their marriages after facing difficulties. We see Rachel struggling with grief and loss. Liane delivered a brilliantly written book that makes us think about the choices we make in life. For example, what if we would've taken a different route in our lives. Where would we be today? That is what I think I enjoyed most and I absolutely loved the ending although, much was left unanswered I feel this book has a stellar ending. I am also super excited that this is being made into a film in which Blake Lively will portray Cecilia Fitzpatrick and I cannot wait to see who plays all the other characters.

Thanks for reading my review. Hopefully I'll be back soon with another good book :) - C
